Throughout its history, the BMW X5 has undergone a series of model developments and variations. This series has evolved considerably since its introduction in 1999, adopting constantly improved design elements, technological innovations and a variety of engine variants.

BMW X5 (G05, 2018 - today)

The latest model in the X5 series, the G05, sets new standards for sportiness, comfort and versatility. High engine power is combined with luxurious equipment and modern technology. A choice of diesel, Petrol and hybrid engines is available. However, it is worth noting that although the plug-in hybrid model offers ecological advantages in terms of emissions, it tends to run down the battery over longer journeys or at higher speeds.

BMW X5 (F15, 2013 - 2018)

For the F15, BMW has offered a choice between rear-wheel and all-wheel drive for the first time. In terms of motorization, the model offers various diesel and petrol variants as well as a version with plug-in hybrid drive. The F15 was also upgraded in terms of technology and design, which led to an improvement in ride quality and comfort. Nevertheless, attention should be paid to signs of wear and tear on the older models in this series.

BMW X5 (E70, 2006 - 2013)

The second generation of the X5, the E70, impressed with a revised look and new technology, including the iDrive system and a head-up display. In terms of engine variants, diesel and petrol versions were offered. The diesel version was more economical and required less maintenance, while the petrol version offered higher performance. However, problems with the soot particle filter were often reported with the diesel engines of this model.

BMW X5 (E53, 1999 - 2006)

The BMW X5 E53 marked the beginning of the X5 series. As the manufacturer's first sport utility vehicle (SUV), it offered a blend of luxury, comfort and sporty driving dynamics. Despite some teething troubles in the first years of production, the E53 quickly became a popular model in its class. It was available in various gasoline and diesel engine versions. However, fuel consumption and costs were higher here than in the later models. This list illustrates the continuous development of the BMW X5 over the years. Each model change brought improvements and new features, making the X5 one of BMW's most popular and successful models. However, it is important to bear in mind that each generation has its own strengths and weaknesses. These should be taken into account when buying and selling each individual model.
